The Newfoundland Secret Summer Gathering is a full-on fusion of live and electronic music, art, literature, dance, nature and friendship – set in a series of mystery locations (usually in Wales).
It’s put together by a constantly evolving collaboration of arts & music organisations from Wales, across the UK and the world. Starting life as a private event for a small community, it’s a gathering: a not-for-profit celebration of local and international creativity and peace.
2007
was a massive year for us, seeing the festival open to the public for the first time. It was a chance for all who’ve been involved from the start to display their love and work to new audiences, make new friends, and share a stage with a diverse network of artists.
Combining psytrance and acoustic performances, literature and art, drum n bass, ska, folk, funk, fire performance and frozen yoghurt, NFL 07 was sunny! Pretty much 40% of the time. And together, just by having a wicked weekend, we were able to raise money for community groups and arts centres across the country.
It was the year of the dragon, and the clipboard.

2009
will see Newfoundland grow just as much again. By making NFL a biannual festival, we can expand our horizons and will be returning (before you even know it), bigger, broader, more all-inclusive and more beautiful.
